The Energy Transitions Commission warmly congratulates Nigel Topping on his appointment as the new Chair of the Climate Change Committee, an independent advisory body to the UK government on climate change.
Nigel has been a valued Commissioner and friend of the ETC for several years, bringing sharp insight and deep commitment to accelerating the global transition to
a low carbon economy. His appointment to lead the CCC is a testament to his leadership in climate action, from his role as the UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP26 to his decades of experience in the private sector.
ETC Chair Lord Adair Turner, who served as the CCC’s first Chair (2008-2012), welcomed the appointment:
